Colored three-dimensional elements of the interior of the CH-47D helicopter in 1:72 scale. They are made by 3D printing and carried on decal paper, from which they slide once soaked. They come from the kit of the Trumpeter marque, so the shapes and the dimensions correspond to that model.
A carrier decal paper means that the element is transferred onto the model with water. Cut the part out of the sheet, leave it in lukewarm water for about fifteen seconds and slide it off the paper into place, then press it down lightly with a cotton swab, so that it beds down over its whole surface. It has no adhesive layer of its own, it holds reliably on gloss varnish and on an intricate surface a drop of cyanoacrylate glue helps; do not use a decal softener or a decal fixer, as the chemicals attack the printed resin. Paint the base, go over it with gloss and let it dry perfectly still before application, as under a seated element there is no painting any more. Work in good light and with tweezers with fine jaws; a small element is easily lost and once folded it cannot be straightened again.
The CH-47D Chinook is a heavy transport helicopter with a tandem arrangement of two main rotors. It has a roomy cargo cabin and a pilot's space with a great many instruments. On a model the interior is seen through the windows, the doors and the rear loading ramp, so the fittings of the cabins show even in the small 1:72 scale. Colored elements replace work here that would otherwise mean painting the instruments one by one with a brush.
The accessory is meant for modelers who are building the Chinook in 1:72 scale and want the interior to be legible without hand painting of small instruments. Finish the interior before you close the fuselage. The paints, the gloss varnish and the glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
