1:72 Dassault Super Mystère B.2 — exterior canopy glazing mask is a masking set from Montex intended for painting the canopy frames, not a kit of the aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
This item is a set of self-adhesive masks for the glazing of a model of the French Dassault Super Mystère B.2 fighter in 1:72 scale. According to the name these are masks for the outside of the cockpit. It is not a model of the aircraft and not a decal sheet but an aid for spraying the canopy frames.
In 1:72 scale the canopy is small and the frames are narrow. Going over them by brush here usually turns out uneven, and strips of tape crease on the rounded bubble of the canopy. A pre-cut mask holds the shape of the frame as given by the structure of the aircraft, so the result cannot be spoiled by an inaccurate cut, and the frames are sprayed in the same color and texture as the rest of the fuselage, which is never true of a decal.
Degrease the clear part, let it dry and lay the masks on dry with tweezers. Press them down with a blunt tool, not with a fingernail — a fingerprint on the film will then let the paint run under. On a deeply shaped canopy work from the center to the edges, so that the film does not ripple. Spray a thin coat of base or interior color first, which seals the edge, and only then the top shade. Lay the paint on in several light passes; with the silver and metal shades typical of aircraft of the 1950s that matters twice over, because a heavy coat of metallic creates a pronounced step at the edge of the mask.
The package holds masks only. The kit, paints and glue are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
