DH.82a Tiger Moth cockpit doors are resin replacement cockpit doors in 1:72 from the Quickboost range by the manufacturer Aires. They replace thick plastic parts with thin castings that can also be placed in the open position.

This is a detail accessory of cast resin, not a kit of an aircraft. The content is the side doors of the open cockpits for a model of the de Havilland DH.82A Tiger Moth in 1:72. Because of the technology, injected plastic always has to be thicker than the scale would call for, so a door folded down looks like a little plank. The resin casting is noticeably thinner and has both its inner and its outer surface worked out, thanks to which it looks believable even at close range.
The de Havilland DH.82 Tiger Moth is a British biplane trainer of the 1930s on which whole generations of pilots went through their training. It has open cockpits arranged in tandem and hinged doors in the side of the fuselage, which make it easier to get into the cockpit and, in an emergency, to leave the aircraft by parachute. Open doors are the typical sight of this type in aviation photographs, and on a model they give away at once that this is a Tiger Moth.
Wash the castings in lukewarm water with detergent and remove any release agent. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw; the parts are small, so work over a tray and with tweezers. Sand wet and with your airways protected. They are glued with super glue, which you should apply in the smallest amount with a pin, otherwise the surplus runs over the surface. During the build the original plastic doors have to be removed and the opening in the side of the fuselage cleaned up. Paint the doors separately on both sides and glue them on at the very end; with the open position, check that the angle of opening is similar on both cockpits.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
