A set of five two-hundred-liter drums in 1:72 scale. An accessory for dioramas, airfield aprons and vehicle loads.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set holds five drums of 200 liters capacity in 1:72 scale. The two-hundred-liter drum is the most widespread transport container for fuels and oils in the world and since the Second World War it has hardly changed: a cylindrical body with two or three rolling hoops and two bungs in the top head. That is exactly why it suits almost anything, from an airfield apron through a supply store to a load on the bed of a truck.
Drums are among the accessories there are never enough of in any diorama. Stood side by side by a hangar, lying on their side by a railroad track, stacked in the corner of a yard or lashed to the fender of a vehicle, they give a scene scale as well as a story. They are used with aircraft and ground vehicles alike and are not tied to one army or to one period.
Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the rest away carefully, so that the cylindrical shape is kept. Choose a suitable glue according to the material of the parts. Wash and degrease the drums before painting, otherwise the paint peels off the smooth surface. In color it pays not to make all five the same: a base, then different shades of wear, lighter chipping on the hoops and on the edges of the top head, and darker runs of rust in the places where water stands. Finally, a darker wash helps, which brings the hoops out.
Five drums are supplied. The paints, the glue, the decals and the thinner are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
