This photo-etched (etched) set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard is used to add accuracy to a plastic model of the supersonic fighter Lockheed F-104G Starfighter in 1:72 scale. It is not an aircraft model, but a set of fine metal parts that add details difficult to achieve in injection-molded plastic. It most often enriches the cockpit and other small features of the model.
The Lockheed F-104G Starfighter was a supersonic fighter and multirole aircraft with very thin, short wings and a powerful General Electric J79 engine, nicknamed the missile with a man in it. The G version was the most widely produced and was operated in large numbers by NATO air forces, including the Luftwaffe, in the 1960s and 1970s.
The parts are separated from the fret with a sharp knife, bent against an edge, and glued with cyanoacrylate (super glue). Pre-printed, color, self-adhesive elements are applied without painting; unpainted parts are sprayed together with the model. Tweezers, magnification and experience are needed.
This is an accessory etched set, not a standalone model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
