The F-35A Lightning II in a release marking the thousandth aircraft built, 1:72 scale, from the South Korean brand Academy. An injection-molded plastic kit of a modern fifth-generation fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the single-seat F-35A from the South Korean brand Academy. The box is turned out to commemorate the thousandth aircraft of the F-35 program to be delivered, and it is those markings that set it apart from the ordinary box of the same aircraft. For this release the manufacturer gives engraved panel structure, a detailed cockpit, landing gear and a weapons bay, with the doors of both the landing gear and the bay able to be built open or closed.
The F-35A is the land-based variant with conventional takeoff and landing, and thus the most widespread member of the Lightning II family. It differs from its siblings in lacking both a lift fan and a folding wing, and it is the only one to carry an internal gun. It carries its weapons inside the fuselage in order to keep its radar cross-section low, and its strength does not lie in propulsion alone but in the linking of sensors and data transfer.
On an aircraft with a smooth surface, clean work decides everything: we recommend sanding the fuselage seams and restoring the fine engraving, so that traces of filler disappear. Apply the gray shades in thin coats with an airbrush and handle the differences between panels with gentle shading rather than sharp transitions. Finish the cockpit and the weapons bay before the fuselage halves are joined.
The kit is sold as a set of unpainted plastic parts; the glue and the paints are obtained separately.
