Die-cut masking templates in kabuki tape in 1:72 scale for a model of the F-4C/D/J Phantom II, in the extended EXPERT version.
Responsibility details are not available.
The F-4 Phantom II is an American two-seat supersonic combat aircraft that served with the Navy, the Marine Corps and the US Air Force and was in its day among the most widespread Western types. The C, D and J versions differ in their equipment and in the service they flew with; the set is listed for all three together.
The set brings masking templates die-cut to shape from kabuki tape. The tape is thin and pliable, conforms well to curved glazing and, once pressed down, holds along the edges of the frames. The EXPERT designation refers to the extended version of the line. Which kit the templates are cut for, and which parts of the model they cover, is stated in the manufacturer's instructions.
The templates go onto a clean, degreased surface before spraying. Transfer them with tweezers or the tip of a knife, lay them along the outline and press them down with a soft tool so that the edge seats everywhere, otherwise the paint will get under it. Spray in thin coats and lift the template before the paint cures fully; the edge then stays crisp and the coat does not chip at the boundary.
The set suits modelers who want the glazing and the other masked areas crisply defined and do not feel like trimming tape by hand. The model, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
