Injection-molded plastic kit of the American Republic F-84G Thunderjet jet fighter-bomber in 1:72 scale from Italeri. The kit has engraved panel lines, clear cockpit parts and waterslide decals. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted as a classic plastic model to be glued and sprayed.
The Republic F-84 Thunderjet was one of the first American production jet fighter-bombers with a straight wing. The F-84G version was the most widely built: it introduced in-flight refueling and the ability to carry tactical weapons. It became famous for its service in the Korean War, where it was used mainly for strikes against ground targets, and it equipped a number of Allied air forces. The wingtip fuel tanks and the nose air intake are characteristic.
Finish the cockpit before you close up the fuselage; fill and sand the intake and the fuselage joints for a clean profile. Paint over a primer; the typical glossy natural metal finish comes to life once a smooth gloss base has been laid down and metallic paints are used - stir them thoroughly and apply them last. Fit the tip tanks and the landing gear after the base coat, and put the decals on a gloss surface to prevent silvering.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
