Eduard 1:72 F4U-1 Corsair Birdcage painting masks are a set of self-adhesive kabuki masks for spraying the complex early canopy of the Vought F4U-1 fighter cleanly.
Responsibility details are not available.
These painting masks from the Czech manufacturer Eduard are intended for models of the Vought F4U-1 Corsair fighter in the early form with the so-called birdcage canopy, in 1:72 scale. The parts in low-tack kabuki tape follow the dense framing of the early cockpit exactly, so that spraying leaves sharp and straight frames with no laborious cutting.
The Vought F4U Corsair was an American carrier-based fighter with a characteristic inverted gull wing, used by the navy and the Marine Corps in the Pacific in the Second World War. The early F4U-1 form had a heavily framed cockpit canopy, nicknamed the birdcage for the way it looked. Later versions received a cleaner bubble canopy.
Lift the parts off the fret, transfer them onto the canopy and the cockpit frame and press them down with a soft tool. Fill in the dense framing with strips of tape or with liquid mask. Spray the color of the frame and then the exterior shade, and remove the masks while the paint has only just dried.
The masks are an accessory for spraying, not a model. Paints, glue and the kit are not included in the package.
