The resin landing gear doors replace the plastic parts from the base kit of the American carrier-based F6F Hellcat fighter in the -3 and -5 versions in 1:72 scale. The thin castings with molded inner structure look more faithful than the thicker plastic doors and fit the edge of the wheel well better.
The Grumman F6F Hellcat was an American carrier-based fighter of the Second World War with a Pratt & Whitney R-2800 radial engine and retractable landing gear whose wheels folded into the wing. The doors of the wheel wells are clearly visible on a model with the landing gear extended, so their realistic thickness and internal lightening raise the overall fidelity noticeably.
