Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the American carrier jet fighter F9F-2 Panther in 1:72 scale from Hobby Boss. It is a detailed model with richly broken-down parts, finely engraved panel lines, a cockpit, a clear canopy and underwing armament. Check the exact package contents and the number of parts against the enclosed instructions.
The Grumman F9F Panther was one of the first successful carrier jet fighters of the US Navy. It had a straight wing with wingtip tanks and was powered by a single jet engine. The F9F-2 version made its mark markedly during the Korean War, where it served both for air combat and for attacks on ground targets with bombs and rockets. The Panther meant an important step in the transition of carrier aviation from piston machines to jet propulsion.
Glue the parts with thin modeling cement for plastic, and the fine and clear parts rather with cyanoacrylate glue. Paint the cockpit and the instrument panel and add the details before closing the fuselage; the clear canopy can be protected with a mask during spraying. The typical gloss dark blue naval finish comes out best with a quality base and an airbrush. Fit the underwing stores and the wingtip tanks only after painting.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
