1:72 F/A-18 Hornet Aggressor Arctic Splinter Camo Paint Masks are pre-cut masks for the arctic broken aggressor scheme of a 1:72 Hornet model.
Responsibility details are not available.
Cold gray-blue shades divided into sharp wedges are among the most striking colorings the US Navy ever gave a Hornet. Two sheets of pre-cut parts from DN Models hold the shape of the fields exactly as it was drawn, which at the dimensions of 1:72 is practically the only workable route. Without masks the small wedges would merge into a hazy transition.
The scheme is worn by the machines of the unit nicknamed Fighting Omars, which is devoted to air combat training. The artwork deliberately copies the style of the camouflage of contemporary Russian Sukhois, so that a pilot in training sees in the sky a silhouette in a coat similar to that of a real opponent. The Hornet thus finds itself in a role it was not designed for, and that is exactly what makes the model interesting.
The smaller the model, the more the thinness of the spray matters. Release thinned paint in light mists and give the surface a moment's rest between layers. Seat the individual wedges with tweezers with flat jaws, press the points down and only then spray. Once dry, remove the parts with a smooth pull at a shallow angle.
The contents are masking sheets only, without a model and without paints.
