This is a resin detail set from Aires in 1:72 scale. It is not an aircraft model but an accessory that replaces the engine exhaust nozzles on a plastic kit of the F/A-22 Raptor. Resin allows a finer and more faithful rendering of the shape of the nozzles and of their inner structure than injection-molded plastic can manage.
The F-22 Raptor is a twin-engine American fighter with low radar observability. Its characteristic feature is the angular, flat exhaust nozzles with thrust vectoring in the vertical plane, which are among the typical hallmarks of this type. It is precisely these nozzles that the set refines in 1:72 scale.
Wash the parts to remove any mold release agent, cut off the casting blocks and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). The nozzles are best painted separately in metallic shades with heat tints applied afterwards, and only then glued into the fuselage.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
