1:72 Savoia-Marchetti SM.79 exterior is an Eduard photo-etched set concentrating on the external details of a model of the Italian three-engine aircraft in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The designation in the name suggests where the set aims: at the exterior of the model. The metal parts find a use on surfaces where plastic would look coarse and complete the surface with fine rendering. It is an accessory for a model, not a kit of the aircraft. The manufacturer is Eduard.
The Savoia-Marchetti SM.79 Sparviero was an Italian three-engine bomber and torpedo bomber of mixed construction with a wooden and steel framework. Its characteristic feature was the dorsal hump above the cockpit, because of which the aircraft was nicknamed the hunchback. In the Mediterranean it made its mark mainly as a torpedo carrier and ranks among the most successful Italian machines of the Second World War. It was built in several renditions and some of the machines served in a transport role after the war ended too.
External photo-etch is seated on curved surfaces, and that calls for preparation. Level the place under the part and sand away in advance the raised plastic detail that the metal is to replace, otherwise the component will not seat. Hold the part in place and work the glue in under the edge, so that it does not run across the surrounding finish. On larger areas a glue with a longer setting time helps, because you gain time to adjust the position. Wipe any excess away before it dries.
