An injection-molded plastic kit of the German Focke-Wulf Fw 190D-9 fighter in 1:72 scale from the Polish brand IBG Models. The set captures the late production version assembled at the factory in Marienburg (today Malbork) and offers fine engraved surface detail. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The Fw 190D-9, nicknamed the Dora or the Langnasen-Dora (long-nosed Dora), was the development peak of the Fw 190 family. The original air-cooled radial engine was replaced here by the liquid-cooled inverted V12 Junkers Jumo 213 with its characteristic lengthened nose cowling and a balancing plug in the fuselage ahead of the tail surfaces. The machine excelled above all at higher altitudes and ranked among the most capable German fighters of the end of the Second World War.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife and glue the joints with thin cement for plastic. Apply a base filler before painting, which will reveal small imperfections and unify the surface. The fine engraving of the panel lines comes out after spraying with an airbrush and a light emphasis with a removable enamel paint. The frames of the canopy are easier to paint with masking templates.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
