A resin set from the Czech manufacturer AML for kits of the Fokker D.XXI fighter in 1:72 scale. It holds ski landing gear and a decal sheet for two versions. It is not a stand-alone model but an accessory that is combined with a base kit.
The Fokker D.XXI was a Dutch fighter monoplane with fixed landing gear, a simple and tough aircraft that made its name above all in Finnish service. The Finnish Air Force used it intensively during the Winter War, when the fighters operated from improvised snow-covered and frozen surfaces, so in winter the wheeled landing gear was routinely replaced by skis. It is exactly this characteristic winter face that the set lets you render faithfully, and the model gains a clear period setting at once.
Wash the mold release agent off the resin skis, cut off the casting blocks and glue with cyanoacrylate glue. Apply the decals on a gloss base and let them settle with a decal softener, as cleanly seated national insignia stand out on winter camouflage with its white areas. A model on skis looks superb on a simple winter base with tracks in the snow.
The set is an accessory; the base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
