A resin accessory from the Hungarian manufacturer SBS Model for Folland Gnat T.1 models in 1:72 scale. It is not an aircraft kit, but a set of precisely cast landing gear wheels that replace the simpler plastic parts from the kit. The casting offers cleanly engraved detail on the hub and on the tire tread.
The Folland Gnat T.1 was a British two-seat jet trainer, made famous among other things by the displays of the Red Arrows aerobatic team. Thanks to its small dimensions and low weight it was a popular and agile machine for training RAF pilots.
Wash the parts in lukewarm water with detergent because of mold release residue. Cut off the casting blocks and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. They are bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Paint the hub and the tire separately, and a light dusting with pigments works well at the end. The set is made for the Airfix kit.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
