A turned metal set for a model of the Focke-Wulf Fw 190 fighter in the A-6 version, in 1:72 scale. The set contains the MG 17 and MG 151 barrel tips and a pitot tube. It is not an aircraft model but metal replacement parts that are fitted to a finished kit. It is made by the Polish brand MASTER.
The A-6 version of the Fw 190 fighter carried a combined armament distributed in the fuselage and in the wing, of which what showed on the outside were above all the muzzles of the MG 17 machine guns over the engine and the barrels of the MG 151 cannon in the wing. The armament configuration differed between the individual subversions of the A series, which is why sets of this type are always tied to one subversion; this one is intended precisely for the A-6.
The metal tips are fitted into holes drilled where the plastic parts were. The main reason it pays off is symmetry: with the pair of machine guns over the engine and with the barrels in the wing it is crucial that they protrude the same distance and lie in one plane. Drill the holes with a thin bit in a pin vise and insert the parts dry first. The metal combines well with photo-etched parts you may already have on the model: both are glued the same way, with super glue or epoxy, and both need degreasing before painting. Apply a primer for metal to the brass. On the barrel tips, chemical blackening or a dark patina works better than a covering paint: it does not clog the bore and looks more convincing than flat black.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and unassembled. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
