Quickboost exhaust for the Focke-Wulf Fw 200 Condor (1:72)

A resin detail accessory from Quickboost, made by Aires, in 1:72 scale. The set replaces the exhaust pipes with finely rendered resin parts. It is not an aircraft model but a stand-alone accessory that raises the fidelity of the engine nacelles.

The real subject

The Focke-Wulf Fw 200 Condor was a German four-engine long-range aircraft of the Second World War, derived from a prewar airliner and used above all for maritime reconnaissance and attacks over the Atlantic. The exhaust pipes came out of the radial engines on the four nacelles.

Building and painting tips

Wash the parts to remove any mold release residue, cut off the casting blocks and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Drilling out the exhaust outlets and shading them in color livens up the detail markedly. Wear respiratory protection while sanding.
