A set of four bombs in which a guidance tail module and a stabilizing strake collar are fitted to the universal Mk-84 body. Against the penetrating version it has a smooth body without a protective layer. Resin printing preserves the fine screws of the tail kit and the lifting lugs.

A universal bomb of the 2000 lb class

The Mk-84 is the heaviest member of the American series of aircraft bombs with a thin-walled body, designed for the highest possible proportion of explosive. Without a guidance kit it was dropped in free fall as early as the war in Southeast Asia. From the end of the 1990s the addition of a satellite and inertial system turned it into a precision weapon able to hit a target even through cloud and at night, which was a fundamental step forward against the earlier laser guidance. Its fragmentation effect makes this variant a tool against area and less resistant targets.

Advice on assembly

The bombs are most conspicuous on the inner pylons, so check the clearance against the racks and the landing gear doors in advance. Apply the cyanoacrylate drop by drop, so that it does not run into the engraved lines. The gray-green tone of the body stands out after a light highlighting of the upper surfaces and a dark emphasis of the seams around the collar.
