Photo-etched metal accessories in 1:72 scale for the model of the General Dynamics F-111F tactical bomber. The metal sheet replaces features that plastic is too thick for.
Responsibility details are not available.
The General Dynamics F-111F was an American tactical bomber with a variable geometry wing. The two-man crew sat side by side in a shared cockpit and the machine was built for a run-in at low altitude and high speed, helped by a terrain-following radar. The F version is among the late production variants of the type.
These are photo-etched metal accessories for 1:72 scale. Photo-etch is made from thin metal sheet into which the shape is etched chemically, so the resulting part is an order of magnitude thinner than a plastic one. It therefore comes into its own where the real thing is thin too: on instrument panels, seats, bulkheads, intake grilles and covers. Which parts the set contains and where they belong on the model is described in the enclosed instructions.
Work over a light surface and with fine-tipped tweezers; a photo-etched part slips away faster than you can react. Separate it from the fret with a sharp blade and level the burr left by the tab with a file. Make the folds along the pre-etched grooves. Join metal with cyanoacrylate glue applied with a pin, so that the excess does not spread around. Paint holds badly on bare metal, so degrease the surfaces first and spray them with a primer.
The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
