It lets you replace the simplified barrels and gun bodies from the kit with more accurate resin parts, for example in open armament bays. It is an accessory to be built into a kit, not a model in its own right.
The MG 17 is a German 7.92 mm aircraft machine gun of the Second World War. It was a fixed, built-in machine gun used on a number of German aircraft, among them in the armament of fighters. A caliber of 7.92 mm was in common use among aircraft machine guns of the day.
Wash the parts to remove the mold release agent, cut off the casting blocks carefully and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). The metal parts are painted in dark steel shades with light picking out of the edges with a dry brush. Given how small the parts are, work with a sharp tool and tweezers. Protect your airways while sanding.
