A glazing mask for the 1:72 Grumman A-6A Intruder separates the canopy frames from the clear areas, so the cockpit of the carrier attack aircraft gets sharp outlines. The masks are cut for the parts of the Trumpeter kit.

The stencils are shaped to the glazing of a model of the Grumman A-6A Intruder aircraft. After spraying, the frames stay sharply bounded and the windows clear, without your having to outline them with a brush. The set is cut for the parts of the Trumpeter kit; on a model from another manufacturer the shapes need not agree.
The Intruder came about as a carrier bombing machine that finds its target at night and in dense cloud as well. The crew consisted of two people sitting side by side, the pilot on the left and the operator of the navigation and bombing system on the right. The production A-6A version carried the main weight of the fighting over Southeast Asia, where it proved itself with a low approach to the target and a large capacity for external loads. The type held on aboard aircraft carriers and with the Marine Corps for decades. A radar filled the characteristically thick nose, thanks to which the crew could make out the terrain in the dark.
Finish the cockpit before you cover the glazing; later you will no longer reach it. Cover the frames with the interior shade first and only then go on with the base and the top camouflage. Lay thinned paint on in several thin coats so that it does not run under the edge of a stencil. After uncovering, check the edge against the light; the point of a toothpick will take off a little overspray.
