A photo-etched set of details for a model of the Grumman A-6A Intruder carrier attack aircraft in 1:72 scale. The thin metal parts refine the places where a plastic part necessarily stays coarse.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Grumman A-6 Intruder was a carrier attack aircraft of the US Navy, built for all-weather strikes. The crew of two sat side by side, which is why the nose is unusually wide and rounded. The A-6A version was the first production variant of the whole family and serves as the baseline form from which the later modifications developed.
This is a photo-etched set of details for a model of this aircraft in 1:72 scale. Photo-etched parts are thin metal elements that replace or complete finely shaped details for which a plastic part is too thick. Which particular elements the set brings and where they go on the model is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Separate the parts from the fret with a sharp blade on a hard surface rather than by twisting, and sand the remaining stub down. Make the bends along the marked grooves, best of all in a bending tool or between two blades. Wash and degrease the metal before painting and lay down a primer, otherwise the paint rubs off easily during handling.
The set suits a modeler who wants to take the level of detail on a 1:72 model beyond the kit and does not mind the finer work with tweezers and a blade. For a complete beginner it is on the contrary a demanding accessory.
The kit itself, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
