Responsibility details are not available.
A set of unpainted plastic figures in 1:72 scale. The subject is British Highland infantry at the moment of an attack, set in the years 1899 to 1902, that is in the Second Boer War in southern Africa. The figures are rendered in movement, which is typical of this line and sets the set apart from static marching or standing ones. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
In the Second Boer War the Scottish Highland regiments were among the most easily recognizable parts of the British forces, not least because of the distinctive elements of their equipment. The war itself was a transition between two eras: against a regular army used to close formations stood mobile marksmen who used the terrain and modern rifles with smokeless powder. That showed in the tactics and in the end in the color of the uniforms, which during the conflict shifted toward inconspicuous earth shades.
Rinse the figures in lukewarm water with dish soap and let them dry. Take the mold burrs off by drawing a sharp scalpel. In 1:72 scale there is no point in dealing with every button; what makes the result is legibility: primer, a flat shade for the uniform, a dark wash into the folds and a fine dry brush on the edges. For the face a flesh shade and one dark accent are enough. We recommend painting the figures before gluing them to a base, as that way you can also reach the places that will later be covered. Keep a consistent color line across the set so that the whole group reads as one unit.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
