A color acrylic display base measuring 280 x 180 mm and 3 mm thick with the motif of the airport on the island of Saba.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Juancho E. Yrausquin airport lies on the small Caribbean island of Saba and is one of the best-known airfields of its kind in the world. Its runway is exceptionally short, at both ends the terrain drops steeply to the sea and only crews with special training may land there. That is exactly why it is a surface a modeler will recognize even in a photograph, and one that gives even a small aircraft a story in a display case.
A color display base in acrylic 3 mm thick and measuring 280 x 180 mm, with a print of the surface of this airport in 1:72 scale. The board is rigid, it does not warp and, unlike a paper base, it has no wavy edges. The model stands straight on it and needs no further carrier for that.
Wipe the base with a soft dry cloth before placing the model on it. Acrylic does not stand aggressive solvents or spirit-based cleaners, which dull the surface, and it is easily scratched by a coarse cloth or a grain of dust. It is better to leave the model standing freely on the base, or to hold it down with small tabs of double-sided tape so that it can be taken off at any time. Under sharp edges of the landing gear it pays to leave a thin pad so that they do not dig into the print. A board in storage should lie flat, as one leaned against a wall will bow in time.
For builders of aircraft in 1:72 scale who want to display or photograph a finished model on a believable base. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
