This photo-etched set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard adds fine metal details to the interior of a plastic kit of the Junkers Ju 88A-4 bomber in 1:72 scale. It is not an aircraft model but an accessory aimed at the inner spaces of a kit - the instrument panel, seat belts, side panels, levers and small covers - etched into thin metal of a kind injection-molded plastic cannot capture in a small scale.
The Junkers Ju 88 was a German twin-engined multipurpose combat aircraft of the Second World War, used as a bomber, a dive bomber and a night fighter. The A-4 version was the main bomber variant with an extended wingspan and more powerful engines. Its characteristic glazed cockpit gathered the whole crew into the forward part of the fuselage.
The etched parts are cut from the fret, bent along the pre-scored lines and glued with cyanoacrylate; on larger areas a two-part epoxy adhesive helps. It is best to complete and paint the interior before the fuselage is closed up. We recommend tweezers, an etch bender and patience - the set is intended for more experienced modelers.
This is a detail accessory, not a stand-alone model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
