Self-adhesive masks 1:72 for the Mitsubishi Ki-46 III KAI Interceptor Dinah from Dead Design: precise masking of the cabin glazing of the interceptor version of the famous reconnaissance aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of precisely cut self-adhesive masks in 1:72 scale for the interceptor version Mitsubishi Ki-46 III KAI. Even after its conversion into a fighter, the Dinah kept the large glazed canopy of the pilot's cabin, whose frames are tedious to paint freehand; the masks ensure clean lines at the first attempt.
The individual mask panels are transferred with tweezers onto cleaned clear parts, the edges are pressed down and the glazing is sprayed together with the camouflage of the airframe. The paint does not creep under, the frames stay sharply bounded and, once dry, the films are gently taken off with no adhesive residue. The masks can be used with an airbrush and with a brush.
The Ki-46 III KAI came about by converting the fast strategic reconnaissance aircraft Ki-46 III into an interceptor for the air defense of the Japanese islands. The glazed nose was replaced by a solid nose with cannon armament, complemented by an obliquely mounted cannon behind the cabin. The machine was deployed against high-altitude raids at the close of the war, when the Japanese defense was looking for any aircraft able to operate at great altitude.
This is a modeling accessory: the aircraft kit is not included in the package.
