A decal sheet from the Hungarian brand HAD models in 1:72 scale for the model of the Aero L-29 jet trainer in the service of three countries, that is, Hungary, Bulgaria and Romania. It is neither a kit nor an accessory part but wet decals with which a finished and painted model is marked. What makes the sheet interesting is precisely that it offers markings outside the usual Czechoslovak liveries you meet most often on this type.
The Aero L-29 is a Czechoslovak two-seat jet trainer with a straight wing and a characteristic high-set tail, which became the standard training machine of a number of European air forces. It was built in large numbers and served for decades for both basic and advanced pilot training. The individual countries used the airplane in their own liveries and with their own national insignia and tactical numbers, so it is precisely the markings that decide how a model comes across in a display case.
Apply the decals onto a smooth, glossy and perfectly dry surface. Varnish the area with a gloss varnish, separate the decal together with its backing, dip it in lukewarm water for a few tens of seconds and let it stand until it can be moved freely. A decal softener will help it settle, and over transitions across engraving and rivets it helps to work it down with a damp cloth. Once it has dried, rinse any remaining adhesive off and go over the model with a flat or satin varnish so that the edges of the sheet disappear. In 1:72 scale the markings are small, so have fine-tipped tweezers and good lighting ready.
The decals are an accessory for a model. The kit, paints and varnishes are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
