Resin machine gun barrels for the Avro Lancaster B.II in 1:72 scale from the Czech brand Quickboost (Aires) - with cast cooling jackets with round perforation.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a resin detail part for more experienced modelers, not an airplane model. The precisely cast barrels of the defensive machine guns replace the soft plastic parts from the kit of the British Avro Lancaster B.II bomber in 1:72 scale. The barrels have faithful cooling jackets with round perforation, which plastic parts usually cannot capture. The accessory is made by the Czech brand Quickboost (Aires).
The Avro Lancaster B.II was a version of the British four-engine heavy bomber powered by Bristol Hercules radial engines instead of the Merlin V12s. It was built in limited numbers as insurance in case Merlin deliveries fell short. This version too relied for defense on machine guns in powered turrets, and it is their barrels that the set sharpens.
First wash the part in lukewarm soapy water, so that any mold release residue disappears. Separate the thin barrels carefully from the casting block with a sharp knife, clean up the surface and glue them in with super glue (cyanoacrylate). When sanding resin, protect your airways with a respirator. Do not sand the perforated jacket more than you have to, so that the detail stays intact.
An accessory for a plastic kit. The model itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
