An injection-molded plastic kit of the American M4A3 Sherman medium tank in 1:72 scale from Trumpeter. The model captures the variant with a welded hull and the classic vertical volute spring suspension (VVSS) with narrow tracks. The tracks are of the flexible (vinyl) type, and a decal sheet is included.
The Sherman was the most widespread American medium tank of the Second World War. The M4A3 version was marked by the Ford GAA V8 gasoline engine, which counted as one of the best powerplants in the whole series. The basic configuration carried a 75 mm gun, a sound combination against infantry and lighter armored vehicles alike. The tank was reliable, easy to produce and easy to maintain, which made it a mainstay of the Allied armored units in the European as well as the Pacific theater. Availability and ease of production were among its greatest strengths.
Assemble the running gear with its VVSS bogies and wheels before you close the hull. Use liquid cement, a primer and an airbrush; you will bring the typically olive drab finish to life with dark washes into the joints and pigments for dust and mud on the running gear and the sides.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
