The third part of the decal range with the markings of the two-seat Il-2 ground-attack aircraft, also designated M3, in 1:72 scale. The sheet is a standalone accessory for a model and does not overlap with the other parts of the range in a way that would let one replace another. The package contains no plastic parts and no kit.
The Il-2 attack aircraft came about as an aircraft for attacking ground targets from low altitudes. An armored shell formed the load-bearing part of the front half of the fuselage and carried the engine and the cockpit; the wing had a metal center section and, on some of the machines, wooden outer panels. The two-seat form with room for a gunner became the standard for later production.
Coat the painted model with gloss varnish, so that the surface is not porous. Cut the decal out as close to the design as possible, soak it in lukewarm water and slide it into place once it has released. Draw the excess water off, let a softener settle the decal into the lines and then seal the surface with a matte varnish. With the tiny designs in 1:72 it pays to work over a tray, so that a lost piece can be found.
The package contains decals; it is not a kit. The model, paints, varnishes and glue are not part of it.
