A plastic kit model of the German Messerschmitt Bf 109G-2 fighter in 1:72 scale from Eduard. Eduard offers this type in several editions that differ in their extra equipment (photo-etched parts, masks) and in the number of decal schemes, so the exact contents always match the particular package. The basis is always the good Eduard plastic mold.
The Bf 109G-2 was among the early versions of the G series (the Gustav), the most widely used family of the Messerschmitt Bf 109. It was powered by the Daimler-Benz DB 605 engine and offered higher performance than the older Friedrichs (the F series). The Gustavs of the G-2 version saw service on every front, from the Eastern Front through the Mediterranean to North Africa, and formed the backbone of the Luftwaffe fighter force in 1942 and 1943.
Eduard's Bf 109 molds are notable for fine engraving and good buildability, which makes even a small model in 1:72 scale rich in detail. We suggest working with a thin cement for plastic and painting with an airbrush. Mask the cockpit glazing carefully (masks may or may not be part of the particular edition). Sketch out the typical German camouflage with its gray shades and pick out the panel lines with a fine wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
