A masking set for the glazing of the cabin for a model of the British jet fighter aircraft Gloster Meteor F.8 in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Gloster Meteor was a British twin-engine jet fighter aircraft and the F.8 version became its most widespread postwar form. You recognize it by the lengthened fuselage, the modified vertical tail surface and the raised canopy of the cabin. It is precisely the cabin that is most in the eye on a model: the frames of the glazing have to be straight and equally wide, otherwise the model acts carelessly even with an otherwise careful build.
The set contains masking templates cut to the shape of the individual areas of the glazing. A modeler sticks them onto the clear part, they cover the transparent areas and leave only the frame uncovered, which is then sprayed together with the rest of the model. The laborious blocking out with tape is thereby done away with and the edge of the transition comes out sharp.
Wash the clear part before sticking the masks on and let it dry completely, because on a greasy surface a mask does not hold. Lift the template off the backing with tweezers, settle it in place and press it down along the edges with a wooden toothpick, so that paint does not run under the border. Spray in thin coats. Take the masks off shortly after the paint has dried, so that no adhesive is left; when you protect the surface with a clear coat, take them off before it.
A kit and paints are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise. The information about which kit the masks are cut for is given by the manufacturer on the packaging.
