A sheet of decals in 1:72 scale for models of the MiG-21 fighter aircraft in Vietnamese service. It adds national insignia and further markings to a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
The MiG-21 is a single-engined supersonic fighter aircraft of Soviet design with a delta wing. In Vietnam it was among the most numerous machines of the air force there, and both the finishes and the markings differed from aircraft to aircraft, so it is a rewarding subject for modelers looking for a less usual form of an otherwise well-known type.
This is a decal sheet in 1:72 scale meant to complete a plastic model. The scope of the markings, the number of machines covered and the placement of the individual items on the model are given in the instructions supplied with the sheet; use them to plan in advance which items you will apply first. The sheet is tied to the scale, not to one particular kit, so it suits models of the MiG-21 in 1:72 scale in general.
Before you dip the sheet, check in the instructions whether it is not a self-adhesive version. A self-adhesive film that has been dipped is ruined beyond repair, whereas a wet decal can be dipped later as well. With a waterslide sheet the procedure is the usual one: cut the item out close to the edge of the printing, immerse it in lukewarm water for a few seconds and let it rest for a while on a paper towel, until the film releases from the backing. Apply it onto a smooth glossy surface, otherwise matte milky edges will show under the film. Blot the surplus water off with a soft cloth and dose the softener sparingly.
The sheet will be appreciated by modelers who want to finish a MiG-21 model in the form used in Vietnam. The model, the paints and the glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
