A plastic kit of the Soviet jet fighter Mikoyan MiG-15bis in 1:72 scale from Eduard. Eduard offers this type in several editions that differ in the extent of their equipment (plastic, decals, and in some cases etched parts and masks). Check the particular contents of the package, therefore, against the manufacturer's designation of the given edition.
The MiG-15bis was a single-seat first-generation jet fighter (NATO code Fagot) that became one of the most significant machines of the early Cold War. It was notable for its swept wing and a single jet engine; the bis version received a more powerful engine and small refinements. It drew worldwide attention above all during the Korean War, where it met Western fighters in combat.
We recommend working with liquid cement for plastic and an airbrush. Before gluing, dry-fit the fuselage and the wings. Many MiG-15bis machines appeared in natural metal, so a good base and metallic paints applied in differing shades to set the panels apart pay off; other machines carried covering camouflage. Accent the panel lines with a fine wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
