Photo-etched landing flaps for the 1:72 Mitsubishi G3M model are an accessory to a kit you already have, not a model of its own. The Brengun set lets you build the flaps lowered, as the aircraft stood on the ground.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set holds photo-etched parts for the landing flaps of a model of the Japanese twin-engine G3M bomber in the Hasegawa kit. It is not an aircraft model but a replacement for one particular part of the wing. The accessory comes from the Czech maker Brengun.
Kits tend to have the flaps molded in one piece with the wing in the retracted position. But a parked aircraft often had its flaps lowered, and it is precisely a lowered surface with its structure visible behind the trailing edge that gives a static model movement and depth. Etched sheet is ideal for this purpose: a real flap is a thin surface with ribs and a hem, which cannot be cast faithfully in plastic in 1:72 scale. The set also reveals the inside of the wing, which on an untouched kit never comes into play at all.
First mark the cut precisely on the wing, and only then cut the plastic flap off with a fine-toothed saw and sand the area flat. Cut less rather than more and keep measuring, as you can always take more off. Bend the photo-etched parts toward the etched score line and form the ribs with a round tool over a soft surface. Glue the assembly with super glue in stages so that the position can be checked, and set the angle of deflection from period photographs of parked machines. Degrease the metal before painting and cover it with a primer.
This is an accessory, not a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
