This item is not an aircraft kit but a small accessory to one. It is a resin set of protective covers of the kind fitted to a parked aircraft to keep foreign objects out of the engine. The set is cut to the shape of the intakes of the F-4C/D Phantom II in 1:48 scale, and on a model you will use it above all where you want to show the aircraft parked on the apron or in a diorama. The exact contents of the package are stated on the box.
The F-4 Phantom II is a two-seat twin-engine jet aircraft with characteristic side intakes. The C and D versions served with the US Air Force and differ above all in equipment and avionics. It is precisely the large side intakes that are visually striking on this type, so fitted covers catch the eye on a model at once and at the same time say unmistakably that the aircraft is in ground mode.
Wash the castings in lukewarm soapy water before use so that the mold release agent is removed. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw and level the seating surface with abrasive paper, protecting your airways. The covers do not have to be glued permanently; many modelers simply seat them so that they can be taken off again. If you want to fix them, use cyanoacrylate glue or a small drop of PVA glue. They are usually painted in a bright warning shade, most often red, so that they are clearly visible on the aircraft. Apply a primer before painting. Please check before you buy that the shape of the covers suits the intakes on your own kit, because these differ between manufacturers.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and unassembled. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
