This is a resin set of ordnance from the brand GAS HANS in 1:72 scale — the American naval mine Mk 52 in the form with a fairing. It is not a model of an aircraft but an accessory for the model you are building. The manufacturer makes the variant of the same mine without a fairing separately, so you can choose according to the configuration you want to depict.
The Mk 52 is an American naval mine dropped from an aircraft. The fairing on the tail section of the body changes the silhouette of the external store, so the two forms look different on a model. From a modeling point of view an external store of this kind behaves like a bomb: it is carried on wing or fuselage racks, and the shape of the body, the shape of the tail and accurate seating are what decide the result. In 1:72 scale these are tiny parts on which the cleanliness of the finish is very visible.
Wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water and let them dry. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine-toothed saw, level the surface and finish it wet, with respiratory protection. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue — cement for plastic will not bond resin. Apply the base coat thinly, so that the edges of the fairing are not rounded off. Spray the shade itself with an airbrush and pick out the edges only at the end. When gluing them to the racks, measure the position in advance so that all the pieces hang on the same axis and at the same height.
This is an accessory, not a kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
