This resin accessory from the Quickboost brand brings accurately cast propellers for a model of the American twin-boom Lockheed P-38J Lightning fighter in 1:72 scale. It is not a kit but a replacement part, which replaces the propellers from the box with more faithful castings with the correct profile and shape of the blades.
The P-38 Lightning was an unmistakable twin-engine fighter with two tail booms. It was powered by a pair of Allison V12 engines with counter-rotating propellers, which dominate the view at the front of both engine nacelles. Accurately cast blades with the correct profile and angle look more realistic than the parts from the box and give the noses of both booms a faithful appearance.
First wash the resin parts in lukewarm water with a drop of dish soap because of the mold release residue. Cut the casting blocks off carefully with a saw and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. Seat the blades in the hubs at the same angle and glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Bring out the leading edges and the blade tips when painting.
The accessory is supplied as a resin replacement part, unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
