This is a resin detail set from Aires in 1:72 scale. It is not an aircraft model but an accessory that replaces the landing gear bays on a plastic kit of the P-40. Resin makes it possible to render the structure and the inner detail of the bays, which in plastic are as a rule only suggested.
The P-40 is an American single-engine fighter of the Second World War that served on many fronts with a number of Allied countries. Its retractable main landing gear tucks into bays in the wing, whose inner definition shows clearly on a model when seen from below.
Wash the parts to remove any mold release agent, cut off the casting blocks and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Glue the bays in and paint them before the wing is closed, and bring the details out with a dark wash.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
