This is a resin detail accessory from Aires, not an airplane model. The set contains faithfully cast wheels for the P-40B fighter with a realistic tire tread pattern and hub detail, complemented by masking film for easy, clean painting of the tires and the wheel hubs. Wheels fitted this way look more convincing than the parts from a plastic kit.
The Curtiss P-40 was an American single-seat fighter of the period of the Second World War. The early P-40B version was among the first production batches and was deployed with a number of Allied units. It was powered by a V-type engine and was distinguished by its characteristic nose with the radiator beneath the engine.
Separate the wheels from the casting blocks, wash them to remove the mold release agent and bond them with super glue. Stick the enclosed masks onto the tire or the hub, spray over them with an airbrush and peel them off carefully once dry for a crisp transition between the colors.
