According to the name the package is aimed at the utility version of the vehicle and at the version for civil service. The mold is short-run, so the parts have no locating pins and the seating surfaces are sanded down before gluing. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The Phänomen Granit 25H was produced from the second half of the 1930s by the Phänomen-Werke works in Zittau in Saxony. A characteristic feature of the vehicle was its air-cooled engine, thanks to which the worries about freezing coolant and a damaged radiator fell away in field and winter conditions alike. The chassis was simple, repairable and carried a wide range of bodies, so ambulance, box and flatbed bodies were all built on it. The vehicle therefore served civil services alongside its army use, and some examples survived into postwar operation. The designation Late refers to the later production version, which differs from the early series in details of the body.
The cab and the body are small at this scale, so set out in advance what you will paint separately: the interior of the cab, the rims and the glazing are done far more easily before the final assembly. Mask the glazing with narrow tape or with liquid mask, as on models of this size a clean window frame is the first thing that catches the eye when you look into a display case. A civil version takes a glossier finish than an army vehicle, so do not kill the paint with a matte layer all over; leave the gloss on the body and matte only the chassis and the tarpaulin.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
