The BTR-70 was a Soviet eight-wheeled amphibious armored personnel carrier that followed on from the older BTR-60 and removed a number of its weaknesses. It was driven by a pair of gasoline engines, moved in water by a water jet, and the infantry boarded through side hatches between the axles. It served with Soviet and friendly armies, and in the later versions it received small changes in production and equipment that tell the early and the late form apart.
The parts are injection-molded in plastic; glue them with liquid cement for plastic. In a small scale, clean up the wheels and the small parts carefully and watch for clean seams on the hull. Soviet green with lightened upper surfaces suits the painting, with a dark wash in the details and dust pigments on the wheels and the lower hull. Pick the tires out in a muted gray rather than black.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
