The photo-etched accessory set 1:72 S-100 Schnellboot Flak 38 20mm from the manufacturer Eduard is focused on the armament of the S-100 type fast torpedo boat in 1:72 scale. It is an accessory for a kit, not a model of the boat.
Responsibility details are not available.
A photo-etched set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard for a model of the German S-100 type fast torpedo boat in 1:72 scale. Unlike a general set for the same vessel, this one is, according to its name, defined by one particular element of the armament, the 2 cm Flak 38 anti-aircraft gun. A model of the boat is not included.
The 20 mm Flak 38 was a German light automatic gun used during the Second World War both on land and on light vessels. On fast torpedo boats it appeared as defensive armament and was installed on open mount positions on deck. From a modeling point of view it is an assembly made up of thin sections, a shield and a mount, that is shapes that can only be cast in a simplified form in injection-molded plastic.
With weapon assemblies, patience during assembly pays off more than anything else. Dry-fit the parts first and remember the order, because super glue does not forgive. Make the bends exactly on the marked lines; with small parts it helps to clamp the photo-etch between the two jaws of a bending tool and bend it in one movement rather than gradually. Paint the assembly off the model, so that you can reach places that would be inaccessible once it is installed. Apply a thin primer to the metal first. Fit the finished gun to the model right at the very end.
