A display base for a 1:72 model with a Saint-Exupery motif is an acrylic board 180 x 357 mm and 3 mm thick. The elongated upright format is prepared for one aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
A board stretched upright, 180 x 357 mm in size, differs from the rectangular bases of this range in its proportions; it weighs 210 g and is of acrylic 3 mm thick. In its theme it refers to Antoine de Saint-Exupery, one of the best-known pilots in the literature of the twentieth century.
He was born in 1900 in Lyon and from the 1920s flew mail routes over Africa and South America. The experience from them he turned into the books Night Flight, Wind, Sand and Stars and above all The Little Prince. During the Second World War he served with a reconnaissance group and on July 31, 1944 did not return from a flight over the Mediterranean. The wreck of his machine was found only more than half a century later off the French coast.
The narrow, long format is made for a single-engined aircraft placed lengthwise rather than across. You can just as well seat a scene with a pilot figure and several accessories one behind another on the area. The board also fits on a narrow shelf where a square base would reach over the edge. It will be appreciated by collectors who combine models with books in a shared display case.
Figures and an aircraft do not belong with the board; obtain them separately.
