About product

Eduard 1:72 Savoia-Marchetti SM.79 (photo-etched set)

A photo-etched detail set from the Czech maker Eduard for a model of the Italian three-engine bomber Savoia-Marchetti SM.79 Sparviero in 1:72 scale. The set refines the interior and the external detail and takes the build to a higher level.

The real subject

The Savoia-Marchetti SM.79 Sparviero (sparrowhawk) was an Italian three-engine bomber and torpedo bomber of the Second World War. It became famous as one of the most successful torpedo aircraft of the Mediterranean theater. Characteristic of it were the three engines and the dorsal hump.

Use and tips

  • Separate the parts with a sharp knife and make the fine bends on a photo-etch bender.
  • Bond with a small amount of super glue.
  • The color elements bring the interior and the instrument panel to life.
  • Paint and finish the interior before the fuselage is closed up.

Who the set is for

  • Modelers of Second World War aircraft.
  • Anyone interested in Italian aircraft.

This is an accessory, not a kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.

FAQ

No, this is a photo-etched detail accessory for a plastic SM.79 model. The model itself is not included in the package.

The interior, the instrument panel and the fine external elements that plastic cannot capture faithfully in this scale.

For modelers with experience of photo-etch who build Italian aircraft.
