That is what sets it apart from the sister box with a central float, which is a separate item; choose according to whether you want the machine off land or in its catapult float form. The model is made by Kovozavody Prostejov, a Czech brand with a long tradition in 1:72 scale.
The Curtiss SC-1 Seahawk came into being as a single-seat navy scout aircraft for service on surface ships. The design allowed for the landing gear to be exchanged: the machines were delivered and ferried on wheeled landing gear and received their float assembly only once with the unit. In the land configuration the aircraft therefore looked slimmer and was operated from land bases, while the float version served for catapult launches and landings on the water.
Finish the cabin interior first and only then close the fuselage up: on a single-seat aircraft the inside is clearly visible. Sand the fuselage joints and the leading edges with fine paper and restore the engraving. Glue the landing gear legs only after the lower surfaces have been painted, as masking is easier that way. Paint over a primer and spray the naval shades with an airbrush with soft transitions. Spray gloss varnish under the decals and then unify with a matte or semi-gloss varnish. A restrained wash will bring out the panel lines; concentrate the wear at the wing root and at the walkways.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
