An injection-molded plastic kit of the legendary Grunau Baby IIb training glider in 1:72 scale from the Czech manufacturer AZ model. This release concentrates on aircraft with Czechoslovak markings and offers two gliders in one box. Plastic parts, a decal sheet and instructions are included.
The Grunau Baby is among the most widespread gliders in history. It was designed at the start of the 1930s and, thanks to its simple and rugged wooden structure, was built in many countries in thousands. It served mainly for the basic training of glider pilots and became a symbol of Czechoslovak gliding both before and after the war.
This is a small model with fine parts, so thin cement for plastic and patience during cleanup are called for. The slender wing and the tail surfaces need careful alignment so that the model stands well. Wooden and fabric surfaces can be brought out with a subtle shade and restrained weathering; lay down a gloss coat before the decals.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
