Eduard 1:72 Sea King Mk.41 masks is a die-cut self-adhesive masking set in kabuki tape for masking the cockpit glazing and the windows of a helicopter model. It is not a model but an accessory that makes painting easier.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard contains precisely die-cut self-adhesive masks in fine Japanese kabuki tape for a model of the Sea King helicopter in the Mk.41 version in 1:72 scale. It is neither a kit nor a finished model but an accessory that makes masking the glazing easier and more accurate when spraying paint.
The masks are stuck onto the frames of the cockpit glazing and onto the fuselage windows, so that after spraying the glass stays clear and the frames are crisply bounded. Kabuki tape adapts well to curved surfaces and to the many windows of the helicopter, it holds tightly and leaves no adhesive when peeled off. There is no need for the slow business of cutting and tracing each window by hand.
The Sea King was a twin-engine multirole helicopter powered by a pair of turboshaft engines, with a boat hull that allowed it to alight on water. The Mk.41 version served with the German Navy above all on search and rescue (SAR) duties over the North Sea and the Baltic. The helicopter was notable for its large cockpit glazing and for the row of windows along the sides of the fuselage.
The set contains only the cut-out masking parts. The model, the paints and the glue are not included in the package.
